Geforce 6800 Ultra

Due to an anonymous post, I have decided to write a little something about my eVGA Geforce 6800 Ultra. This isn't really a review, more of a heads up to anyone that is going to buy it, or thinking about it. The card has a few flaws with heat dissipation. The HSF design is poor and ill-efficient. The fan is placed near the back blowing air toward the center of the case. On top of that the air the fan uses is recycled air from the inside of the case, rather then fresh air from the back. And just to add to the problem all the Heat spreaders are aluminum instead of copper, while they make the card weigh less, they definitely don't help with heat dissipation. What they should have done is had fresh air pulled from the back of the card (where there should be a plentiful supply of air from outside the case either from a front fan or a side fan) blown over the RAM Sinks and the GPU Heat Sink, and out the back of the case! Got to go now, need to go home, might write more when I get home.
